 Amanda has been trying to tell herself it's just a stupid ghost story ever since her family vanished when she was ten... some Preacher back in the California gold rush days sells his soul to the devil and now supposedly haunts the woods called Devil's Grove, taking those unlucky enough to cross his path, but secretly she's always known better. What she doesn't know is that at the heart of the campfire tale that haunts her past is the demon whose number is 666, the number of souls he must collect before he can be unleashed upon the world. The Demon who will walk the earth as the False Prophet of Revelations carrying with him the Book of the Damned and in it the list of all those who have failed God's test of faith. Amanda has no way of knowing the souls of her and her friends are the beginning of the End. She has no way of knowing that everything they believe will be tested; that the love and concern they feel for each other will be twisted and used against them one by one. She has no way of knowing that no matter how far she's willing to go to save the ones she loves from a fate that only begins with death, she's about to witness the fall of man. That is... if she can survive that long. The Preacher, the Biblical false prophet, is about to walk from the abyss of the wilderness. Hell will follow with him. Every man, woman, and child will be tested, just as Abraham, Job and Jesus himself were. Will you worship a false god and damn your soul to hell and your flesh to the Devil?
